Wire Goldfish by bugsandbears Wire Goldfish by bugsandbears
Final project for a Design class. I used my jewelry wire to create this goldfish. The body is flexible chainmail, with scale mail spirals, and the fins are simple woven wire shapes. The most complex part is the fish's head, which consists of several framing pieces woven and lashed together.
Overall, the fish came out pretty well, and I would like to make more wire sculptures like this. One thing I am definitely never doing again is the spiral chainmail. Making that many spirals was torture on my hands!
